I would feel disappointed and hurt if my teacher did not give me a present. It is a gesture that often communicates a teacher's appreciation and acknowledgment of the hard work a student has put in to their classes, and without it, I would feel like I had not been recognized for my efforts. Although I understand that not every teacher can, or chooses to, give out presents, it would still be a blow to not receive one, as it feels like a sign of care and respect for the student.
