The Blue Ridge receives the highest annual rainfall in Georgia because it is located in the higher elevations of the state. The higher the elevation of an area, the cooler the temperatures tend to be which allows for more moisture in the atmosphere and thus, higher amounts of precipitation. The Blue Ridge must also receive higher amounts of rain because the winds coming from the nearby Atlantic Ocean bring abundant moisture for precipitation.
