When and how did the Civil Rights movement begin?

Answers

The African-American Civil Rights Movement is considered to have begun in 1954, and last until 1968. Its main purpose was to end racial segregation and discrimination; starting as separate events such as the successful boycott of gas stations in Missisipi, organized by the Regional Council of Negro Leadership, and finding continuation in such events as the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the movement gradually gained momentum, resulting in a powerful wave of changes. Although some of them did not come easy, and although there was a great opposition top this movement, it has greatly contributed to the equality of people of different races within the United States.
