Sir Ralph the Rover was a famous pirate and sea captain during the seventeenth century. He was renowned for his daring raids on Spanish ships and for successfully evading capture. His last known exploit was a plundering of the Caribbean island of Barbados in 1688. His exploits made him a legendary figure among the seafaring community of the time.
