What did Sir Ralph the Rover do?

Sir Ralph the Rover was a famous pirate and sea captain during the seventeenth century. He was renowned for his daring raids on Spanish ships and for successfully evading capture. He was known to have plundered ships on the Spanish Main and in the West Indies, as well as engaging in privateering voyages around Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean. His last known exploit was a plundering of the Caribbean island of Barbados in 1688. His exploits made him a legendary figure among the seafaring community of the time.
