What circumstances forced Sudha Murthy to become a teacher at the young age of twelve ?

Sudha Murthy was born in a small village in Karnataka and her family was extremely poor. She was expected to help her parents support the family, so when she was just twelve years old, she began teaching as a part-time job and would attend school during the day. She used her income to help support her family and pay for her own education. Her hard work allowed her to become the first college graduate in her village and eventually become the successful engineer, writer, and philanthropist she is today.
