United Nations Global Compact

The United Nations Global Compact is a "Strategic Policy Initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption". It is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with over 13,000 signatories in more than 165 countries. The initiative encourages companies to develop strategies and implement programmes that advance responsible and sustainable business practices. By signing on to the Global Compact, companies pledge to embed the ten principles in their operations, and are asked to report annually on their progress.
