United Nations Development Program

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) is one of the leading agencies of the United Nations (UN). The mission of the UNDP is to create and support sustainable development in all countries through effective partnerships, capacity building and targeted investments to reduce poverty and inequality, while fostering resilience and inclusive growth. The UNDP works with people at all levels of society, from local to global, to help build nations that can withstand crisis, reduce poverty and take advantage of opportunities to reach their potential. The UNDP provides and supports technical assistance, training and innovative solutions in over 170 countries. Its key areas of work include helping countries reach the Millennium Development Goals, which are eight international development goals aimed at reducing poverty and inequality; advancing good governance, democracy and human rights; and helping countries cope with climate change. Other services provided by the UNDP include research and analysis, policy advice, and development financing.
