Second Period( late 1800's to mid 1900's

The period from the late 1800s to the mid 1900s was marked by a wave of industrialization. This period saw the invention and mass-adoption of new technologies such as the telephone, internal combustion engine, electricity, and the use of steel in factory production. This wave of industrialization saw a huge surge of immigration to industrialized nations like the United States. With more people and new technologies, the economy grew and large urban cities formed with new businesses, services, and technologies. In the United States, it was also a time of vast social changes which included the formation of labor unions, the founding of civil rights organizations, and the rise of mass consumerism. Furthermore, World War I and II both took place in this period and had a profound effect on international relations, economic structures, and political systems.
