A descriptive observation is a scientific observation made by describing the characteristics and qualities of an event, object, or phenomenon. This type of observation uses one's senses to provide details that can't be quantified or measured. For example, if a person were to observe a rose, they would use descriptive words to describe its color, shape, and size, as well as any other significant characteristics.
