The angle of the rays of sunlight is important in determining the amount of energy the Earth collects because the amount of sunlight cover the Earth receives is determined by the angle of the rays. If rays of sunlight hit the Earth’s surface at a lower angle, then the Earth will collect less energy, whereas if the rays hit the Earth’s surface at a higher angle, then the Earth will collect more solar energy. This is due to the fact that when sunlight is spread over a larger area, it weakens and there is less energy absorbed by the Earth. Therefore, the angle of the sunlight is an important factor in determining the amount of energy collected by the Earth.
