what is conduction

Answers

Conduction is the transfer of thermal energy (heat) through a medium (such as a solid, liquid, or gas) from one molecule to another due to proximity and interactions between the molecules. The molecule that gains energy becomes more excited and vibrates more vigorously than the molecues around it. This energy is then transferred to other molecules, which in turn transfer the energy to their neighbours. The process continues in a chain reaction until the heat is dissipated into the surrounding environment.
