A periscope works by using two mirrors to reflect and bend the light. As the light enters the periscope, the first mirror reflects it and the second mirror bends the reflected light in such a way that it travels in a different direction and can be seen by the observer at the other end of the periscope. The two lenses in the periscope refract the light, which means they cause the light to bend as it travels through the periscope. This enables the observer to see objects from different angles and from afar.
