“Poverty is a curse upon humanity”. Explain

Poverty is a major issue which can affect individuals and entire nations. It essentially means that people are unable to meet their basic needs, such as food, shelter, health care, and education. This lack of resources can lead to a variety of negative consequences, including malnutrition, poor health, lack of education, crime, vulnerability to exploitation, and a decrease in overall quality of life. Often, poverty is caused by a combination of factors, such as location, unequal resource distribution, corruption and discrimination within societies. Poverty may also contribute to political instability and military intervention, which in turn also leads to more poverty. For these reasons, poverty endured on a large scale can be seen as a great tragedy for all of humanity. It severely inhibits individuals and societies from reaching their full potential, a fact that should concern us all. The lack of resources experienced by the world's poor can be seen as a waste of human potential, a crime against human dignity and a waste of human life. Therefore, poverty can be seen as a true curse on humanity.
