In the absence of air resistance, a projectile is launched from and returns to ground level. It follows a trajectory similar to that shown in Figure 3.10 and has a range of 29 m. Suppose the launch speed is doubled, and the projectile is fired at the same angle above the ground. What is the new range?

Answers

The new range of the projectile will be approximately 58 m. This is because doubling the launch speed will double the horizontal speed of the projectile, which will, in turn, double the distance the projectile travels before hitting the ground again. Therefore, with the doubling of the launch speed, the range of the projectile will also be doubled.
