Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are companies that design and manufacture complete hardware and software products that are sold to customers under their own brand name. OEMs provide product design and engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and support services to retail companies, system integrators, consumer electronics, service and consulting networks, and others. The products they produce could range from consumer and commercial PCs to networking and enterprise systems, consumer electronics, or embedded computer applications. OEMs may develop their own software or utilize third-party services for platforms or applications. OEMs are also heavily involved in providing after-market services, support and warranty for their products.
