Non-governmental organization (NGO's)

Non-governmental organizations (NGO's) are independent organizations, typically non-profit and non-governmental, that exist independently of government, and play an active role in social, cultural, economic, and political spheres. They can work in areas such including health, education, nutrition, energy, agriculture, urban areas, environment, human rights, and humanitarian relief. NGO's typically rely on donations and volunteer services to meet their objectives, and often operate independently with limited oversight. Though they may engage in political discourse, they are often non-partisan and non-violent in their activities.
