Aa square and a triangle have equal areas. If a side of the square is 10 inches and the base of the triangle is 10 inches, what is the height of the triangle?

Answers

The height of the triangle is 17.3 inches. This is because the area of a square is side × side, or 100 square inches. The area of a triangle is base × height × 0.5, so for a base of 10 inches the height must be 100 / (10 × 0.5) which equals 17.3 inches.
