Integrated Air Pollution Control System

Answers

Integrated Air Pollution Control Systems (IAPCS) are comprehensive systems designed to reduce or eliminate the emission of air pollutants from stationary sources. IAPCSs contain combination of several tools for controlling air pollution. These may include pollution control equipment such as scrubbers, fabric filters, electrostatic precipitators, baghouses, and oxidation systems; air quality modeling; and monitoring and sampling programs. IAPCS systems also include some form of public involvement, whether through public hearings and public awareness campaigns, voluntary pollution reduction programs, or other forms of public-private collaboration. The ultimate goal of an IAPCS is to ensure that all stationary sources of air pollution comply with applicable regulatory requirements, protect public health, maintain a safe workplace, and reduce the impact of air pollution on the environment.
