How to draw the regression line

The regression line can be drawn by plotting the points of the data set on a scatterplot and then finding the equation for a line that best fits the data points. This can be done by either finding the line of best fit by eye or by using a regression calculator. The equation for the line of best fit is a linear equation that has the form y = mx + b, where m is the slope of the line, and b is the y-intercept. Once you have the equation for the regression line, you simply plot it on the graph of the data points. The line should pass through as many data points as possible, while also minimizing the average square error – that is, the difference between the actual value and the predicted value of each data point. The closer the line is to all the data points, the better the fit.
