How did Abdul Kalam earn his “first wages” ? How did he feel at that time ?

Abdul Kalam earned his first wage when he was at the age of 8. He worked as a newspaper vendor in Rameswaram. At the end of the day, he received two annas, which was equal to two cents. He felt very happy when he received his first wage as it was a great source of pride for him to be able to contribute to his family income.
