Higher dew point means higher moisture in the air. Dew point is the temperature at which the moisture in the air condenses, forming dew or fog. The higher the dew point, the more moisture there is in the air and the more humid it feels. This can sometimes translate to a feeling of heat, as moisture in the air reduces the evaporation of sweat from the skin and therefore prevents cooling. High dew points can also create conditions that are favorable for rain.
