Environmental Performance Index (EPI)
Answers
The Environmental Performance Index (EPI) is a measure of how well a country is performing on environmental policy. This index is released biennially by Yale University and the World Economic Forum and scores nations on twenty-five different aspects of environmental performance. These include indicators such as air quality, water & sanitation, biodiversity and habitat, climate change, and sustainable energy. By scoring each country on these indicators, the EPI provides a holistic snapshot of the environmental health of countries around the world. The goal of the EPI is to provide a clear and transparent way to rank and compare countries’ environmental policies and performance, enabling nations to identify areas for improvement and facilitating international cooperation on environmental issues.
