Change in Quantity Demanded

A change in quantity demanded of a good or service is the result of changes in consumer demand for the good or service. These changes can be caused by a variety of factors such as changes in prices, availability of substitutes, consumer income, consumer taste and preference, and changes in demographics. When the demand changes, producers must adjust their production and/or prices to take into account the new consumer demand in order to remain profitable.
