A Goan village baker is usually a jolly, hardworking and engaging character. He rises bright and early each day to attend to his bakery, baking fresh goods such as bolinhas, pau, fodas and bolos. He might often be spotted whistling tunes and laughing merrily while working. He builds a strong relationship with his regular customers, knowing their preferences and favoured goods. His bakery is an important part of the community and he rarely goes unnoticed. He may often be seen interacting with customers in between baking and keeping an eye on the oven, making sure all his goods turn out just how they should.
