Good theories should be able to predict behavior because they provide us with a framework to access and understand the world around us. A strong theory can provide a complete understanding of a given phenomenon, enabling us to predict generalizable behavior. By making predictions, theories are able to test themselves, strengthening the verification and justification for the hypothesis. By predicting behavior, we can evaluate and refine theories, adding to our collective knowledge, and allowing us to gain further insight into the world.
