How Did The Democratic Party Begin?

Answers

The Democratic Party originates from 1791, when Thomas Jefferson and James Madison established the Democratic-Republican Party, as a counterweight to the Federalist Party. In 1812, after the war, the Federalist Party lost all of its support, and the Democratic-Republican party had been left with no political opposition. The vacuum in power caused the necessity to fill it, and in 1828 the Democratic Party as we know it today, led by Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren, appeared.
