Liberty is the freedom of an individual to act and make choices without interference or constraint by other individuals or the state. This can extend to a wide range of rights and freedoms, such as freedoms of speech, assembly, press, and movement; religious, economic, and political freedom; the right to bear arms; the right to privacy; and the right to a fair trial. Liberty goes beyond the legal protections we are granted and includes the ability to engage in activities without fear or intimidation. Ultimately, it relates to being able to live in a way of our own choosing and is a fundamental part of what it means to be human.
